Picture of governance amongst us

My office is on fire. Distressed and sold! I''m a plain employee. The politricks of powerplay in this business take-over was a shade of black. A new manager- chief interventionist was hired to bring life back into the distressed organization. Well, that should be his brief I think.

There already was a cadre of order pre-established. The former heads forgot how transient power can be. Since, the company was literally SOLD; sold like a double trouble rickety old car, the erstwhile heads who had more than once rode in the car, thought they had rights to control the new driver. They forgot the power of a driver! Now imagine, if the driver were a top-level devout lover of alcoholic - just taking possession of a car and wanted to f-e-e-l the car. He was in power and here, he is deadly.

Underground scheming and politricking went unabated. The chief interventionist, concluded that some people were not being obedient and he wants to 'crack' his whip. The 'crack' caught four heads, former pipers, on bare back. That sounded the bigle!

Immediately War lines were drawn and barriers laid - all the Generals took positions. Police stepped into the messy shameless face-off.

On Monday the 16th, at the management meeting, new boxing talents came up. It was strange that we had a Mohammed Ali amongst us and we never knew. They would have made millions being boxers than as mere journalists.

The open accusation of the Press Manager by the Chief Interventionist of corruption, that he collects 10% on every One Million naira, paid to print our newspaper was the first shot. From the look of it, he had more to say about other members at the meeting ...

This is a picture of governance amongst us. This is the sentiment and mentality that immature people bring into governance as they find their way into it. How will the business or our nation move forward, when most part of a politician's tenure is spent in squabbles and ego-tripping, celebrating undeserved victories over perceived opponents.
